Peak District in Black and White is a growing collection of photographs as I explore the beauty and hidden landscapes within the Peaks. Whenever I take an image now, I nearly always ask if the colour adds anything to it. Is the colour necessary or expendable to the image, and would the image therefore be just as, if not more, effective without the colour in it? I more often than not shoot in colour RAW with a view to rendering in B+W afterwards.
However when out an about with my Leica R8 I always use B+W Film and this challenges myself even more to being aware of the inter-tonal relationships or texture, light and shadow within an image.
